CITY OF OSCEOLA ANIMAL SHELTER ASSITANT |
The City of Osceola currently has an opening for the full-time position of Shelter Assistant. Under the general supervision the Animal Control Officer performs a variety of duties involving the feeding, care and treatment of all animals at the shelter; catches and transports animals; performs intake duties for animals brought to the shelter; cleans shelter, cages, runs and grounds; feeds, waters, medicates, vaccinates, bathes and cares for animals; assists individuals seeking lost animals or adoptable animals, responds to public inquiries regarding care and treatment of animals as well as animal complaints; assists customers in making pet selections; performs office clerical and administrative duties as well as other duties when assigned.
This individual must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Must have a high school diploma/equivalent. Individual must have the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, public and to follow instructions. Individual must have ability to lift and carry a minimum or 25 pounds. Individual must love animals and not afraid of handling animals.
