At 9:07 pm on August 24. The OFD received a call for a car on fire at the intersection of Keiser and Erman Lane. At 9:08 pm the first unit arrived on scene and found a SUV heavily involved in with fire in the engine area. The fire was out with no injuries and all units were back in service by 9:40 pm. And the OFD would like to give a big thank you to the officers of the Osceola Police Dept. for their assistance with traffic control.
Around 9:00 am this morning (8/11/20) firefighters received a call for a compactor on fire at Osceola Iron & Metal. On arrival found fire inside the compactor. Hose lines were deployed and the compactor was then opened up to extinguish the fire. Units were back in service within an hour with minimal damage to the compactor.
Michael "Scotty" Webb. Scotty was a 15 year veteran of the Osceola Fire Dept. We lost Scotty on April 15, 2017 from complications of cancer. Today his family joined us as we dedicated OFD Unit #8 in honor of Scotty Webb. Rest easy brother we've got it from here.
At 3:37 am this morning (8/1/20) a knock on the front door of the fire station notified firefighters of a building on fire in the 100 block of E. Hale in downtown Osceola. At 3:39 am units arriving on scene found heavy smoke coming from 117 E. Hale. While preparing a fire attack, fire broke through the roof on the front of the building. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control fairly quick with minor damage to the buildings attached on east and west sides. All buildings were vacant at the time of the fire and no injuries have been reported. Firefighters left the scene at 6:58 am.
The Osceola Fire Department is currently providing services to our community with a roster consisting of a full-time Fire Chief, fifteen (15) firefighters, and five (5) part-paid firefighters. The fire department provides all the fire and rescue services to our community and approximately 30 square miles of Mississippi County including 40 miles of I-55.
The Department currently operates out of two (2) fire stations. The main station is located at 200 N. Carthon Drive and Station #2 is located at 702 S. Ermen Lane. The Department operates a fleet consisting of two (1) ladder truck, five (5) pumpers, one (1) Mini-pumper/Rescue Truck and two (2) support vehicles.
It is the goal of the Osceola Fire Department to provide the best protection, education, inspection, and investigation to reduce the loss of life and property in our community.

Around 6:30 this morning (4/27/20) Osceola firefighters responded to a house on Myron Kelly Dr. On arrival there were heavy flames coming from the structure. Firefighters were on the scene for about an hour.
